CKS PTO Board Meeting - May 9, 2018

Attending: Monsignor McDermott, Angela Pholen, Tracey Hughes, Jon Hughes, Bridgette Parascando (President), Sage Bernardini (Vice President), Erin Dye (Secretary), Wayne Braun (Treasurer) and Justin Kelley.

I. Opening Prayer

Monsignor McDermott started the meeting with Opening Prayer at 5:30 p.m.

II. Approval of April 11, 2018 PTO Meeting Minutes

Minutes added to June 13, 2018 PTO Meeting Agenda.

III. Business

a. VT Lake Monsters – Justin Kelley joined tonight’s meeting.

• CKS night at the ballgame is September 1, 2018 at 6:05 p.m.

• Hoping Monsignor can sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame (as the National Anthem is booked).

• CKS populates all field events with students; approximately eight activities. Create SignUp? Who’s throwing the First Pitch?

• Communicate to Parish and School Community VT Lake Monsters event and how to purchase tickets. Monsignor recommended students selling tickets after all masses.

• Justin to provide VT Lake Monsters Flyer for distribution by the end of the week. Justin to provide possible list of SignUp items needed to for event.

b. Silent Auction

• Process Thank You Notes; generate mail merge.

c. Spring Challenge – scheduled date Friday, June 1, 2018

• Committee consists of Jay Nunn, Larry Forcier, Shaun Farley

• Current donations approximately $10,000, plus credit cards.

• Cancel Joey the Clown this year; games will be provided by CKS (Nikki Bearor, Amy Langevin).

• BBQ – Mark Dean will make sure grill is operational. Volunteers needed to cook.

• New T-Shirt design- Converse sneaker with the school mascot on the sneaker. Colors will remain the same for each class. Committee is still collecting sponsors for the back of the shirt.

• Thanks to Monsignor – Fisher Brothers Farm will bring ice cream for dessert.

d. Teacher Appreciation Week – May 21 - 25, 2018

• Wayne created SignUp links for the week.

• PTO to provide bagel breakfast on Monday, May 21.

• Erin to work on clarifying PTO and Teacher Appreciation events/fundraisers.

e. NEASC Visit

• NEASC committee had a wonderful visit and LOVE Christ the King.

• CKS should be receiving a preliminary report in about a week; finalized report in June.

f. 2018 – 2019 SY PTO Board Members

• Prior to June meeting, PTO will contact individuals who may be interested in being a Chair/Co-Chair for PTO events. Additional communication will be needed via newsletter, email, signup, etc., to fill the Chair/Co-Chair positions. Incentives for being a Chair/Co-Chair – volunteer hours and lunch duty fulfilled.

Meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
